Crane catalog questions

If yours isn't here, just ask our engineers.

What does the EOTEC crane catalog cover?

The catalog covers the complete range in one 12-page PDF: overhead cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes and non-fixed load attachments. It gives descriptions, configurations and application examples, so it works well as an overview when you are comparing crane types. The cover, the crane solutions overview and the first overhead crane pages can be viewed here before you request the full document.

How do I get the full crane catalog PDF?

Use the Request the catalog button on this page, or send an email to gokhanbal@eoteccrane.com asking for it. If you already have a project in mind, add the load, the hall dimensions and the type of crane you are considering, so the reply can deal with the project as well as the document.

What language is the crane catalog in?

The catalog is in English. If you would rather read about the range in Turkish, the product pages on this website describe the same crane groups and load attachments in both English and Turkish. The catalog is useful for seeing the range together in one document, while the product pages cover specifications and selection for each crane type.

Can I specify an overhead crane from the catalog alone?

No. The catalog helps you settle on a crane type and configuration, but each crane is calculated for a specific hall and duty. You still need the load, span, runway length, hook height, duty and operating environment, and a site survey can establish most of these. Pricing works the same way, so the figure comes from a quotation. The buyer's guide lists each decision.

How do I use a crane catalog to narrow down the crane type?

Start from the building and the work rather than the capacity. If the building can carry a runway, read the overhead crane pages. For an outdoor yard or a hall with no runway, go to the gantry cranes. For fast local lifting at a workstation, go to the jib cranes. Compare your case with the application examples, then name the closest configuration in your enquiry.

What are the non-fixed load attachments in the catalog, and how do they affect crane sizing?

They are devices that work between the hook and the load, such as C-hooks, lifting beams and spreader beams, rather than parts of the crane itself. The load's shape points to the device: C-hooks for coils, lifting beams for long loads, spreader beams for wide ones. The attachment's weight counts towards the load on the crane, so add it before settling on capacity. See choosing C-hooks and lifting beams.
